Blue Heaven

Bahama Village landmark at the corner of Petronia and Thomas streets, two blocks from Duval, serving breakfast, Caribbean-influenced seafood and American fare in a lush indoor-outdoor setting known for live music and towering meringue-topped key lime pie. It opened on September 19, 1992, when artist Suanne and writer Richard served black beans, rice and fish to their first lunch customers at painted picnic tables under a Spanish lime tree. Head chef David Dorsty cooks with seasonal, locally driven ingredients, and the restaurant says it is featured in the MICHELIN Guide.

Open daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, according to the restaurant: breakfast and lunch from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., happy hour from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are first come, first served. Dinner welcomes walk-ins, and a limited number of reservations are taken by phone.
