Plan with confidence
Florida Keys camping inventory is limited and popular dates can book far ahead. Confirm whether a listing is open to the general public, whether the selected site fits your vehicle and whether water, power, dump stations or generators are available. We do not guess loop names, clearance heights or nightly rates.
Dry Tortugas camping is entirely different from roadside camping: visitors must transport water, food and equipment by approved boat or seaplane arrangements and pack out their supplies. Bahia Honda is a state-park destination, not a grocery town—provision on Big Pine or another service island first.
Use this hub to compare stays by Key, then read the camping and Bahia Honda guides for loop rules. Street-parking an RV in Old Town is not a Key West camping plan. Save the reserved site plus a grocery and fuel stop in the trip planner so the overnight is a base, not a leftover highway shoulder.
- Filter to the island that matches the rest of the week—Bahia Honda is a state park, not a town; Dry Tortugas is a separate expedition.
- Check the exact site or loop against vehicle length, clearance and hookups on the managing page, not the directory headline.
- Reserve scarce dates first, then drop the campground plus a grocery and fuel stop into the trip planner.
Practical questions
Before you trust a listing
How far ahead should I reserve a Keys campsite?
Public campgrounds and popular RV parks can book out for peak winter, holidays and lobster mini-season. Reserve the site—and confirm the exact loop and rig limit—before you freeze the rest of the week. Directory listings are not live availability.
Can I treat Dry Tortugas camping like a roadside campground?
No. Garden Key camping is self-sufficient: water, food and gear go by approved ferry, seaplane or private vessel, and you pack out what you pack in. Transportation is the first booking, not an afterthought. Use the Dry Tortugas guide with this hub.
What should I confirm besides the campsite location?
Vehicle and trailer length, overhead clearance, hookups, dump access, generator hours, pet and wildlife rules, and hurricane-season cancellation terms. Bahia Honda’s loops are not interchangeable. Street-parking an RV in Old Town is not a Key West camping plan.
